Can I trade in my device without buying a new one?
Trade-in is currently designed to work together with a new device purchase from Bwonjo. The value is applied toward your upgrade, and if your trade-in is worth more than the device you are buying, Bwonjo pays you the remaining balance after inspection.
How is my trade-in value calculated?
Your estimate is based on the device model, storage capacity, overall condition, functionality, battery health and likely repair costs. The final amount may change after inspection if the actual condition is different from what was submitted.
Can I trade in a damaged device?
Yes. Devices with issues such as scratches, battery wear, camera problems or other faults may still qualify for trade-in value. Severe damage or major faults can reduce the value significantly and may require closer inspection.
What do I need to do before handing over my device?
Before handing over your phone or MacBook, make sure you:
  • Back up your data
  • Erase personal data from the device
  • Remove screen locks and sign out of your accounts
  • Disable activation locks such as Find My iPhone
  • Remove any SIM card where applicable
Is the online estimate the final price?
No. The estimator gives you a guide price based on the details you provide. Bwonjo confirms the final trade-in amount after physical inspection and verification of the device.
What if I am not satisfied with the final offer?
If the inspected condition leads to a revised offer and you are not comfortable with it, you can decide not to proceed. Final process details can be handled by Bwonjo based on the trade-in review.
What if my trade-in is worth more than the phone I want to buy?
The trade-in value is first applied to the new device. If the confirmed trade-in value is higher than the device price, you receive the new device and Bwonjo pays you the remaining balance after inspection. For example, if your trade-in is worth KES 100,000 and the new phone costs KES 30,000, you take the KES 30,000 phone and Bwonjo also pays you the remaining KES 70,000 balance after the trade-in is confirmed.

Bwonjo Trade-In currently covers selected phones and MacBooks. Available models are shown in the estimator as support is added.
Do I need the original box or accessories?
No. The original box and accessories are not required for the estimate. What matters most is the device itself and its actual condition.
Can Bwonjo reject a trade-in?
Yes. Bwonjo may decline devices that are blacklisted, activation-locked, reported lost or stolen, unsafe, heavily tampered with or materially different from the condition submitted in the estimate.
